Okay, Zalon was able to fix some scheduling issues with the site dealing with dates and other table fixes. Okay everyone needs to start scheduling matches and start playing as soon as possible, I know this is going to be really hard at first for everyone because a few people are unfamiliar in how to schedule, but I assure you it is not that hard, just login into the site and schedule the match or if you are already challenged, you can accept or deny the match. If anybody needs help you can msg Zalon or myself for help on scheduling issues. Also we are getting more servers up with the new mod that we have, but we need everyone's help to try and get more so that we have a wide variety of servers available so that everyone can have good pings. We need everyone to play their matches on time so that we don't have any issues in the near future, I know its tough but everyone can do it. I will be writing rules and a column on how people can join the game, and set the server settings up for the games. Stay tuned tommorow.

Prox bugs + Swine Flu

I have not been able to update the news as much as I would of liked. Been very busy staying up late again :( testing some more bugs with Electro, looks like we've been able to work those issues out. We had a public test a few days ago but the server crashed when there was more than 6people playing!! but we finally fixed that. Some servers are up in Europe

On the other note, I don't know if anyone knows, that I live in Mexico and that there's some epidemic flu going around here killing people in their 20s-40s and I happen to be 26!. I wasn't worried to much about it, because of other flu's such as the bird flu, sars....etc but the thing is I live on the border and the Mexican Military has closed down the border, so nobody can leave the country right now, schools are suspended till May 6th, and all the news channels are talking about this virus spreading around like crazy, so please if I haven't posted schedules, I have been meaning to get to it, so hopefully later today. Zalon is fixing the table for this particularly league because games are not based on frags and such. Once Zalon fixes that, we can post schedules. On the good note, we added a few more teams to make this league really fun and challenging playing different teams.

prox beta finished!

After a month of staying up late, till about 7am with Electro. We've been able to finally release the public beta that will be used for the league. Now all we need to do is distribute this to all the admins so that everyone can have the same files and maps. Also schedules will be printed out midnight, any last clans still wanted to join the European division, please do so ASAP because it will be very hard to fix a schedule up once it has been made. The South American division, will be put on hold for a week or two until we're able to come to an agreement with the admins there because they are being really non supportive and because of that, we only have one clan arena server which is outdated and unplayable due to ping reasons. All teams that have little players I suggest that they pickup a few more members to make sure they have members on match day, and clans that have over 8 members need to figure out who will play or field a 2nd team. Also I'll be revising the rules section when I post the schedule up. There you have it, please stop by the channel and show your support for the tourney, without your support, this tourney wouldn't be possible!.

preseason

Sorry for the delay of news. Been busy spending a bit of time with my girlfriend since I don't want her to think that I prefer a game over her :P I posted some practice games for Australia, since their league only consists of 7 teams right now and it was easier to play. In NA since the teams are also not to long, we are just scrimmaging against everyone as well, to get everyone familiar with the times and maps. As for Europe, it is really important that all teams join in the main channel #qwca.fusion to have everyone organized. I don't like going in different channels to get some games going. The Pro-X clan arena mod is just about nearing completion , and we expect to have it rock and rolling by next week, just in time for games. So stay tuned and lets get everyone to play some games before the real matches are scheduled next week.

talking to admins

Its getting closer to everything being completed. We have even more teams now in Europe that we could even possibly do 2 groups of 10+ teams. The clanarena mod is almost done, with a few bugs left to sort out. Also we need to get more servers up in Europe so I need to have everyone participating to help me out a little bit to, and get some admins to msg me so that we can setup the servers up and have a good variety of servers to pick from. Also if anyone notices that there is really no brazil clans registered, but I assure everyone that we will get some samba magic in this league. Once again I've been finding myself sleeping late all the time, about 5am or so trying to get this thing organized. Also on SUNDAY! Very important, all clans/players should meet in the channel #qwca.fusion to discuss rules and possible game times. Please support the league because without you guys, this is not possible. I appreciate everyone for the support, since I am the only one organizing this.

More teams!!

Okay we have a good amount of European teams and that is going to make the competition really sweet there. We are just waiting on a few more teams hopefully to form in the North American division as well as the Australian division. Next week there will be assigned preseason games in Europe along with North America and Australia to get all the clans ready. The preseason games in Europe are really important because this will let me know the general strengths of the teams and find out whether we need a separate division or not. The Viper Squad has decided to finally join also in the League and give clan arena a try, although most of them have not played it, Milton is the one to watch has he has been playing a few public games in the weekly clan arena nights sessions. Anyhow I encourage everyone players/teams to join in the channel #qwca.fusion so I can have everyone there and talk to all of you.
Anyhow im also writing a strategy guide , which is not complete which I'll work on later during the week. Its in the column list.

Signups are officially open im 26 also!

Okay guys well first of it was my birthday this sunday, I turned 26. So that means 11years of playing QW!!! damn can anyone imagine that? Okay most importantly also is that the signups are officially open. Now for a while we had unofficial signups because I wanted to give everyone time to talk to their clanmates and friends about the league to try something new. Right now we have 17teams registered in Europe, 6 in NA with 1 team that im organizing of players that don't have a team right now and hopefully we can get 1 more to have a solid 8 teams. In Australia we have 4 teams which is also impressive because the QW scene is not as strong as others. Now I am really confused into why no Brazil team has signed up yet because, first I always see them playing in the servers and they are full all the time, and I talked to most of the players and they are all interested. I think they have a misconception that they will be playing with highping. Anyhow but the show must go on. Now I am thinking that if in Europe gets 20 solid teams before season's start maybe we can have 2 divisions with each division having 10teams. Anyhow official signups will only last 2 weeks. After that all teams wanting to join will have to join half season and won't have a chance to be in the playoffs. So lets start getting more teams because this league is going to be so much fun. I suggest if everyone can stop by the #qwca.fusion and idle there so we can have discussions about rules and other information. I expect to have preseason matches next week and official matches beginning the week of April 27th.

scrimmages

Well I was quite pleased to have some scrimmages with dopefish against my clan unf. We lost but that doesn't matter we'll get them next time. We also even had a 4on4 CA that we haven't had in a long ass time. We also even managed to play clan hookers intl. Official signups begin Monday the 13th of April. So far we have a nice amount of teams in the Europe division and still trying to get a good 3 more teams in for NA. For Brazil and Australia. I don't know what the hold up is, but the QW community in Brazil told me they would sign up. I think they somehow think they will be playing with 120+ ping all the time. Anyhow I hope that everyone has the chance to start playing because games will be tough!!.

clan arena nights!

Electro has been working hard to get alot of bugs removed from the mod that we have been testing. Hes sending me an updated progs.dat that will be used on the USA servers to test out on a bigger scene because currently we have only been testing 2-3 players and we need to see if we can find more players. In further news, my first clan alias, has reformed with the original members to start a team up in the NA division and hopefully they can get that 10year rust out and get good again just like the days that I remember. Also signups are now available to Brazil and Australia and teams should start forming already. Everything is going good. Signups will be official in a week, so everyone that has not done so, start doing so because we want to start playing. QW needs a facelift and this league is going to give it, but we need everyone's help. Everyone should tell their friends, old players that are on people's aim or msn's .. people on irc that played clan arena in the past, FFAers, whatever works do it. Also Deurk has a team that he opened but so far hes the only one in it. Anybody in Europe not in a team and is clanless feel free to stop by #qwca.fusion and look for him. Also I am opening a column called Predictions that I'll be writing weekly predictions to what I can so people can read and also other people can write preds too. Once again this is going pretty well. Also the EQL playoffs are starting soon, so everyone is excited to see some really good games, head over to the EQL link and read the quakeworld.nu main site for more informaton.

more clans joining!

So far the european division is starting to look really nice with the additions so far added. Also a really super uber strong team in the NA division has formed over night with the likes of cyan,myth,kovaak and a few others. So right now what we need is for some old schoolers to come back and try to compete with the dopefishes!!!. Anyhow in the next few days the brazilian division should start forming teams just that Zalon has been AFK and hasn't been able to allow the country brazil in the list. Anyhow im really pleased in how the progress is going. Everyone's been asking me when the league is going to begin. I would say in approximately 2 weeks from today. Sometime in the 20th of April so we can get everything ready. We will have some prematches prior to the season started. Also don't forget that Tuesday we hope to have a pub beta version of the newer mod we have been testing out everynight Electro and I so everyone can see all the fixes and advancements that are available. I've been really excited and hopefully we can start off with a bang and end with a bang. Hit me up on #qwca.fusion on quakenet for any extra information that you may need.
